VSR Week in Review – April 7-14

Victory Sim Racing Week in Review – April 7-14
This week for us has been a pretty good week. We visited Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the ARCA division where we have had very limited time on the track but really faired not too bad with a full field. We qualified mid pack in 11th and worked our way up to 7th at one point of the race but faded to finish 13th. Tires were not my friend in the ARCA Series as I abused the tires trying to work my way to the front and in the later stage of the race faded and basically got run down by the guys at the back that conserved their tires. Lesson learned.
Next stop was South Boston Speedway with the CARS Tour Late Model Series. Another track I don’t have a lot of seat time at. Nothing really exciting to talk about. Started 8th and fell back to 13th in the opening laps and due to my slowness here compared to the others was able work my way back up to 9th due to my tires being fresher than the others. Not really disappointed with this finish considering my inexperience here.
Next I made my return to the DIRTcar Limited Late Model Series which was at Lernerville Speedway. Qualified outside front row and brought it home 4th. Not bad considering I haven’t been racing the Limited’s much as I have been focusing more on my asphalt program as I don’t have a ton of experience in the asphalt cars.
The Micro Sprints were back at Lanier National Speedway this week. I kind of struggled this week in the micros. Finished 4th in the Non Wing and 6th in the Winged Micro.
After last weeks performance in the Mini Stock Series I decided to run the series again this week. This week the Mini Stocks visited my favorite sim racing track Southern National Speedway. Qualified outside pole and took the lead on lap 2 and never looked back opening up an 11 second lead, leading 34 of 35 laps. This was career win #1 in the Mini Stocks.
This weeks find was the Street Stock Series. I really had no intentions in competing in the street stock division, however with them racing at Southern National I thought I was take a shot at it. I timed 5th fastest in qualifying laying down a 15.591. It took 3 laps to put myself in 3rd place and set fastest lap of the race on lap #4. I stayed with the leader for several laps but as tire wear started to set in the leader started pulling away but as he hit lap traffic it allowed me to pull right up to his rear bumper. On lap #34 the leader mad contact with a lap car when passing him. The contact slowed him down which allowed me to dive underneith him and claim the lead and cruised to the win on my first appearance of the 2025 season in the Street Stocks.
